Valentines Day is on the 14th February each year and is the day where lovers show their love for each other. It could be man and wife, girlfriend and boyfriend or life long partners. It is also a day when a couple may get together if one person has romantic feelings for another it is the perfect day to ask them out or send a romantic gift or card.

Valentines Day is named after Saint Valentine who was an early Christian martyr and was established as a saints day in 500AD, it is now no longer officially kept as a saints day since 1969 but it does still get marked as a day for lovers.

In modern times Valentines Day is marked by sending cards to our "Valentines", sending of flowers (usually red roses) and chocolate. Couples tend to make it a special day between them where they will spend time together to show their love for each other.
