Fathers Day this year in 2010 is on Sunday 20th June.
Fathers Day in the UK always falls on the 3rd Sunday of June which this year falls the day before the Summer Solstice (longest day of the year) which is on Monday 21st June.
Fathers Day is the day where we show and tell our dads just how important and special they are to us. They are the men who repair our punchered tyres, who decorate the room and mow the lawn, without them we’d have to do all these jobs our self!
Dads and Fathers often don’t receive as much credit as mums, so for one day in the year we can really show them that they are truly appreciated.
On Fathers Day we tend to make it a day for Dad to relax and not have to do any jobs around the house but to be looked after and pampered and have a general day off to do what he wants to do.
Now, this might be that he wants to go out and do soemthing he enjoys like playing golf or going to watch some motor racing or it might be that he just wants to kick back and put his feet up with a beer in hand while watching the TV.
So do what it is your dad wants to do, if he just wants to relax at home then you get the bucket out and wash the car, start the mower up and give the grass a cut or do some jobs in the garden so he doesn’t have to. Get him a beer chilling in the fridge ready for his dinner.
You can also buy your dad a present to show him that he is special, you can choose a personalised gift based on something he enjoys, such as Golf or Football or have a look at a range of personalised Fathers Day gifts that he is bound to cherish, like the personalised Best Dad calendar shown above!
